Andy Schleck goes downhill. Badly.
While all the noise and dramatic quotes after stage three were about Levi Leipheimers lack of cojones on the wet descent of Independence Pass, it was Andy Schleck who was the big loser.
The Radio Shack caption lost about 45 seconds and the leader's jersey in the US Pro Cycling Challenge. But the real story was Andy losing three minutes.
We shot this photo out the back window of the Gobernacion De Antioquia team car. He was tentative, unhappy and significantly slower than most of the riders bombing that descent.
Most cycling critics insist that if Schleck wants to win the Tour de France someday, he must work on his time trialing. Maybe, maybe not.
But would anyone disagree at this point that a week spent on downhill bike handling skills would be time well spent for the talented Luxembourger?
